X logo PNG

In July 2023, Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino announced one of the most high-profile corporate rebrandings in tech history: retiring Twitter's beloved blue bird ("Larry the Bird") and renaming the global microblogging network to "X." The change reflected Musk's ambition to transform the platform into an "everything app" spanning messaging, video, audio, and peer-to-peer payments. An x logo png or twitter x logo search is looking for this modern geometric mark — the symbol now found across social media share buttons, website footers, creator bios, and app store listings worldwide.

The visual design of the X mark is stark, minimalist, and typographical. The emblem consists of two intersecting diagonals: one solid thick bar slanting downward to the left, crossed by an outlined, double-struck diagonal stroke. The geometry originated from the glyph for mathematical double-struck capital X (Unicode U+1D54F, from Monotype's Special Alphabets 4), submitted by user Alex Tourville during Musk's public crowdsourcing call. Simple Icons, the open-source library that powers every glyph on this site, provides a clean, mathematically precise vector reproduction in solid black (#000000) that matches the live app mark.

A common question among designers is whether the blue bird logo is still used. The answer is no: X has completely phased out the blue bird across its official apps, web interface, and brand identity guidelines. While many websites still retain legacy "Twitter" share buttons, updating to the current x logo png or x icon svg ensures your site looks modern and complies with current brand standards. If your design specifically requires the historical 2012 bird mark for nostalgic or retrospective purposes, that remains a separate historical asset; the files on this page represent the active, official X identity.

Unlike legacy Twitter's signature sky-blue (#1DA1F2), X has eliminated brand colors entirely in favor of high-contrast monochrome. The mark is rendered in pure black on light surfaces and crisp white on dark surfaces. That is why an x logo white variant is provided on this page alongside the solid black original: for dark-mode websites, dark navigation headers, or black video title cards, the white variant provides immediate legibility without visual clashing. Every file exports with a transparent background by default, so an x logo png transparent download drops seamlessly onto any background without a white box around the glyph.

Fixed PNG sizes range from 64px up to 1024px — 64px or 128px is standard for social follow strips or blog sharing widgets, 512px suits slide decks and marketing banners, and 1024px handles high-DPI displays. For responsive web layouts or large print media, the x logo svg provides infinite vector scalability with pin-sharp edges at any resolution. Searches like "x icon copy paste" or "twitter x logo text" usually seek the Unicode text character 𝕏 to type into messages; the downloads on this page are standalone PNG and SVG graphic files designed for web development, UI design, and production graphics.

Before using any x logo image commercially, keep trademark guidelines in mind. The SVG and PNG artwork files on this site are distributed CC0 through Simple Icons, but "X" and the X logo remain protected trademarks of X Corp. Using the mark for factual identification — such as a "Share on X" button, a social media link, or an editorial reference — is standard industry practice under fair use, provided you do not imply official partnership, sponsorship, or X Corp endorsement. The usage guidelines page has the full breakdown for identification use.
