Google Maps logo PNG

Launched by Google in February 2005, Google Maps revolutionized digital cartography, turn-by-turn navigation, and local business discovery, serving over one billion monthly active travelers across the globe. For its first fifteen years, Maps' visual identity featured a folded paper roadmap background with an overlaid street sign or red location marker. In February 2020, to celebrate the platform's 15th anniversary, Google retired the physical paper map motif entirely, elevating the standalone four-color location pin to be the definitive face of Google Maps. A google maps logo png search is after this ubiquitous navigation pin.

Unlike single-color flat redraws, the Google Maps asset featured on this page is a direct reproduction of Google's genuine, currently-shipping multi-color artwork. The pin is composed of five distinct interlocking colored planes: a blue rounded top (#1A73E8), an energetic red shoulder (#EA4335), a bright blue center (#4285F4), a warm yellow belly (#FBBC04), and a green needle tip (#34A853). This authentic multi-color reproduction delivers the exact look and feel of the official navigation icon as it appears across Android, iOS, and web browsers.

It is worth distinguishing the primary Google Maps application pin from other Google location and local marketing assets. Inquiries for "google map symbol" or "which icon is google maps" are answered by this four-color pin. This is distinct from Google Earth (which uses an aerial globe motif), Google Street View (represented by the orange Pegman character), and custom business place markers (the small single-color category pins seen directly on map tiles). Similarly, searches like "how to get logo on google maps" refer to Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) verification, where companies upload their store logo to appear on local search listings.

Every graphic export on this page comes standard with a transparent background. A google maps logo transparent download drops effortlessly into business contact pages, store locators, event invitation banners, and travel presentation decks without a clumsy white rectangular frame. We provide five standard PNG sizes: 64px and 128px for footer contact rows and store badges, 256px and 512px for travel blogs and local SEO articles, and 1024px for retina monitors. For infinite vector scalability across billboard prints and responsive web applications, the google maps logo svg maintains pin-sharp clarity at any scale.

In addition to the authentic multi-color original, this page includes monochrome solid black (#000000) and pure white (#FFFFFF) variants. These single-color versions are cleanly derived from the authentic pin silhouette, providing sharp contrast for dark-mode web footers, midnight mobile UI themes, and single-color print materials like business brochures and wedding invitations. Google pairs the mark with Product Sans (and Google Sans), its clean geometric sans-serif typeface.

When deploying the Google Maps logo on business websites, travel platforms, or location directories, respect Google brand standards. This file is a reproduction of Google's actual multi-color location pin rather than Simple Icons' flat-color CC0 artwork.
